The American coup d’état

Postby Thomas » Sun Nov 04, 2007 10:41 am

Ever thought about the possibility of an armed takeover of our government? Blackwater in more than a few people's eyes, represents just such a threat as their power increases dramatically month by month. I present the following opinion piece as a kick off point. If this doesn't scare y'all I think it should.
" October 20, 2007 - 3:43pm.

By PHIL HOSKINS

The takeover of the government of the United States is progressing nicely and is very nearly complete. Disguised as “privatization” and propelled by an unprecedented grab of power by the “unitary” Executive branch, we the people have been “Blackwatered” to use the phrase born among the ruins of Iraq.

This process began long before George Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove perfected their synchronized destruction of the Constitution. We can go back for its roots to 1932 when Roosevelt deemed it necessary to claim new powers for the Executive branch in order to pull the nation out of a financial free-fall. Since then every accretion of power by the Executive has been justified by the fear of some boogeyman or another....."

Blackwater is nothing more than a private security force, composed
of employees with a military background. They are not the Muslims
Japs or Nazi's trying to take control of our country.

They are only the current media hysteria of the month.
When the media finds another target to fixate on, this publicity
will fade away .

They are Bush's mercenaries, (estimated at 20,000 to 30,000 strength) and necessary because he has completely overreached and exhausted our military. And at a much higher cost, but he doesn't give a damn as he bankrupts the future of this country with his little misadventures.

I think, dear lady, you do not know what you are talking about. Erik Prince is truly a prince of the far right wing, close to an American Nazi as one can get with out actually joining the party, in my not so humble opinion.

America has not been "ours" for decades. Those who continue to support the current system, proclaiming they are supporting "freedom of choice" are completely deluded. It is sad to see so many so easily and thoroughly brainwashed. I suppose blindness to the truth and a loss of moral direction is the outcome when ones true faith is the worship of greed and excess.

I think that you, Thomas, in your eagerness to deride anything associated
with the Iraq war, have jumped the gun condemning Blackwater.

As Yellow Dog just pointed out, there are about 30,000 employees of
Blackwater. One incident, in a war zone, does not condemn the whole
organization.

One incident that came to the attention of the Iraqi government and was brought to the forefront as a problem. Yahoo search"blackwater atrocities" and you will come up with 404,000 hits, and they are not all about this one incident.

As Y_D so clearly pointed out, sorry, your wrong. Maybe a bunch of gun slingers commanded by a right wingnut is good news to you but frankly these guys scare me a hell of a lot more than Al Qaeda. Of course you, being one of their fans, will escape the first wave of arrests.

Oh yes, that website endorsed by the ultraliberals Barbara Boxer and
Diane Feinstein really impressed me.
More hysteria and no facts that you are buying into.

Whatever, still think you're living in a fantasy world born of your love for the right wing agenda. I find a blanket dismissal based on political orientation divisive at best and certainly no counter argument worthy of an intelligent individual like yourself. An open minded investigator will take into account various sources, thus I present some updates from the conservative Wall Street Journal. You'll have to go to the page to read it as the suckers will not allow a copy and paste. Typical cheap conservative ploy to get you to spend money.
