Remember, If "locals" didn't sell their property to "outsiders" for a fast buck there would be far less undesirable development.

The problem is that the taxes often necessitate that people that have had property for years have to sell some or all as the taxes are just so outrageous.

Story on WLOS when the evaluations first came out. Elderly couple in a modest home on 6 acres which was valued well over half a million, primarily based on the land. That is a budget buster for many around here.

Would I suspect that our government secretly endorses tax bills forcing people to sell so more growth can occur? You can bet your backside I do :x

Agreed, the corrupt and manipulative local politicians and their "backdoor" tax increases are part of the problem. My point is don't blame us "outsiders" for all the development problems, there is plenty of "local' blame to go around. Actually you can place ALL the blame on "big money" and their investment mentality regardless of from where it originates.
