Reagans's Legacy
I think future history books will remember Ronald Reagan as the face of the movement and philosophy that caused the decline and eventual collapse of western society. He will not be remembered fondly.

Re: Tax Plans Revisited
Of course they are; we have to pay for bailing out the for profit financial industry, the incompetent US auto industry, and now have to subsidise the for profit medical industry. This is the "Capitalist" system loved and advocated by "conservatives" at it's finest; taking from th...

We need a modern day FDR to create a new "new deal" today.

Completely unsurprising, our "representatives" are almost as "criminal" as their corporate masters.

Re: Exportation of natural resources
It is not just ours, but the worlds natural resources that are being exploited at unsustainable and wasteful levels; all in the name of excessive gains for a very select few.

Re: Our failed "government"
We've got some decent people running for Congress and the Senate, and governor, from Florida: At least two of them are people that you will run into at the grocery store, and have their home phone listed in the phone book. I'll be walking precincts for both Let me guess, are they all Republicans An...

Re: Brain sensor helps paralyzed people do tasks
All of these medical advances made possible by a for profit health care system!! Strange that we are slowly loosing our once seemingly insurmountable lead in the medical industry to those nations in the world with socialized medicine (as we have lost the lead in virtually every other technological ...

Re: Tax Plans Revisited
Profits produce jobs because the profit maker spends or invests the money in his community! It is a proven fact, (not just my opinion) that the highly compensated spend FAR less as a percentage of their income than those earning a middle class wage or less. Since you don't seem to understand the im...

Ive seen a couple of large black rat snakes around my property, but have never seen or heard any poisionous ones. However, I have been told people have seen rattlesnakes on our mountain, so I am always carefull when working in the woods during the warm months.

Re: Our failed "government"
MM, average people contact their "representatives" all the time, to no effect. If you do not have the means to lavish perks apon and pay for the elections of your "representatives" they could care less about representing your needs. Until most Americans wake up and realize that t...

Re: Snow
We were completely snowed in for 4 days, and partly snowed in (requiring a 1/3 mile walk up and down the mountain to the one car I managed to get down to the main road after about 12 hours of work) for several more. We were also without power for a total of more than 2 1/2 days. Thank goodness we ha...

Re: Our failed "government"
The latest survey I saw was just a few weeks ago, it was about corruption in government; and the US was ranked below many other developed nations (19th if I remember correctly). Our Constitution is indeed one of the greatest documents ever written, but we as a nation have strayed so far from the ide...

Re: Our failed "government"
Our government is one of the lowest ranked amongst developed nations, in several different surveys and studies over the years. I'm not saying that Bush wasn't so bad, I'm saying that Obama isn't looking much better by comparison. 12 months is plenty of time, especially with everything that has been ...

Our failed "government"
I am so thoroughly disgusted with the traitors running our nation. Obama is already looking like another failed president, and so are all members of congress, party nonwithstanding. Not a one of them has credibility. Not a one of them has honor. Not a one of them has an ounce of morality. Not a one ...
